Holy Cake and Ice-cream, Batman!

Calvin turned 4 in April! He is loving Batman right now, so we celebrated in true bat-style!
Joe and I created a "batcave" in our downstairs by covering the walls with black tablecloths, streamers on the ceiling, and black balloons. We also made a cave-like entrance down the stairs. The kiddos loved it! We celebrated with a kid party and family party!

Here is cake number one for the kid party, and below is the special visitor that came to see the birthday boy!
Calvin invited 3 boys from his preschool class, and best buddy Jarom.
Batman taught the kids how to be superheroes, by excercising, eating healthy, being polite, and helping others. He also played some games like "Batman says", Mr. Freeze Dance, hot Joker, and musical pillows. The kids had fun!
Then we did it all again the next day with family!

It was a batty good time!

Sew happy to be SEWING!

I love to sew... I daydream about sewing... only it's been about 8 years since I have done any sewing. Until now! Inspired by friends, beautiful fabric, and my growing girls, I decided that I was going to do it. I found a pattern, ordered the fabric, and set my goal: sew Easter dresses for my girls. I was a little rusty, but got right back into it and found out that I am a better sewer than i remember! Here are the results, and some pictures from Easter.
