Happy Father's Day!

 Happy Father's Day to Joe!!!  He is an amazing Dad, super fun, so loving, generous with his time, and so caring!  Calvin's nickname for Joe is "Popsie", the other kids haven't caught on with that one yet, but that's all you hear Calvin call him!  I love it!  The kids love to wrestle with Joe, play outside with him, read scriptures with him, and hear him sing funny show tunes, like the "Shipoopi!"  For Father's Day we got him "Guys and Dolls" on dvd!  Calvin and Mina made him cards and Mayzie made him a "taco" that she colored for him!  We all love Daddy so much, and it is BY FAR, the best part of the day when he walks through the door, home from work!

Time for SUMMER!!!

Summer time is here!  We have all been looking forward to sleeping in and getting to play and do some of our favorite summer things - like swimming in the pool!

We also began our "art class."  My friend directed me me to a downloadable art curriculum that is wonderful!  You can find it here at Pineapple Paintbrush.  So each week we do some art, the kids have loved it!

Our yard has also completely changed in the last month, from all the tulips to irises galore!  More sprouting and growing in the garden, apple blossoms on the apple trees, and we have lilac bushes on 2 sides of our back yard!  Who knew?!

And yes, the POOL!  It does get warm enough in North Dakota to put out the pool!  For sure one of our favorite ways to pass a summer day!

Here is our house, without snow in front of it!  Another cool thing about North Dakota is that it stays light out in the summer time until 10:00 p.m.!  It is sometimes hard to convince the kids that it's bedtime, but hey, we don't need a nightlight!
