I hear this question probably dozens of times a day. Calvin and Mina love to "make someone/something talk." Any kind of toy or animal has a voice in our house! The kids also love it when we make their food talk. They love it when we pretend their food is in agony as it's being chewed and swallowed. "No Calvin, don't eat me, no, ahhhhhhhh!" Joe is way better at this whole "making things talk" than me. It's really caused me to go outside of my playing comfort zone. What does a Barbie really have to say anyway? Apparently a lot, and I've learned to have fun with it! Below Calvin is playing with "Amelia and Jarom", the most beloved talking toys and space people in our house.
While I am talking about toys, why in the world do they put SEAT BELTS on toy cars??? Come on! Are the toy companies worried that a doll is going to crash and be thrown from the car, break, and we are going to sue? I really think it's annoying, because, it's really difficult for kids to do the seat belts, so they get frustrated and then I end up doing it all the time. It makes it harder to put the dolls into the car, and take them out too. Lame.
Ahh, it makes me sad that I can't come over to play with you and your fun toys! I'd like to hear what you make Barbie say. Maybe Mina is holding out until you dress like Barbie. Loving Family--too conservative. :)
ReplyDeleteI agree. Seatbelts in toy cars? Definitely overkill. Sara's got a point too; I think dressing like Barbie would definitely get a bigger reaction out of Mina.
